This is a referral website
Ryde Roofing is a referral website. It is not itself a licensed building contractor and it does not carry out roofing work.
Enquiries made through this site — by phone on (02) 9100 0199 or through the quote form — are referred to established, licensed and insured local roofing contractors. Those contractors carry out the inspection, provide the quote, and perform any work you decide to go ahead with. The contract for the work is between you and that contractor.
Licensing and insurance
Work referred through this site is carried out by contractors who hold the licences and insurances required for the work they perform, consistent with NSW Fair Trading requirements.
In New South Wales, residential building work valued above $5,000 including GST in labour and materials must be carried out under a licence and under a written contract. Work valued above $20,000 additionally requires home building compensation cover. You are entitled to see the licence details and the contract for your own job, and we encourage you to check any licence through NSW Fair Trading before signing anything, on this site or any other.
Quotes, prices and inspections
Roof inspections arranged through this site are provided free of charge and without obligation.
No price on this website is a quote. We do not publish dollar figures, because a roof cannot be honestly priced without someone looking at it. The price for your job is the written, itemised quote issued after the inspection by the contractor who will do the work.
Information on this site
These pages include general information about roof construction, common local failure modes, housing stock, and the planning and safety rules that apply here — council heritage controls, stormwater provisions, the licensing thresholds above, and the NSW requirement for a licensed removalist where more than 10 square metres of non-friable asbestos is removed.
That material is general and current to the best of our knowledge at the time of writing. It is not legal, planning, engineering or insurance advice, and it is no substitute for a professional assessment of your building or for the current requirements of your council, your insurer or the relevant NSW regulator. Councils amend their planning instruments and thresholds change, so check the current position for your own address.
Insurance claims
Where an inspection or report is prepared for an insurance claim, it records what was observed and what repair is required. It does not determine whether a claim is payable. That decision rests with your insurer under the terms of your policy, and nothing on this site should be read as a promise about a claim outcome.
Warranties
Completed work carries a written workmanship warranty issued by the contractor who performed it. The terms of that warranty, and of any separate manufacturer's product warranty, are set out in the documentation you receive for your job.
Reviews and testimonials
This site publishes no customer reviews, star ratings or testimonials, because there are none to publish yet. We would rather show nothing than show something invented.
